Lately I have begun educating myself about quite a number of topics related to getting off the hamster wheel that modern life has become. I've been reading about everything from homesteading, how to find land, tiny houses, solar and wind energy, aquaponics, sustainable living, raising goats and chickens, all the products that can be made from goat milk, canning, wood stoves, summer kitchens...you get the idea. Inevitably, researching one topic leads to another. And I love it. There's so much to learn...so many ways to make life better.
One way or another change is coming for this household. I can't stand the rat race anymore - working a job I hate, so much stress from said job that it has caused permanent health issues, and watching life pass by in a blur of unhappiness, frustration, and unmet dreams.
It's time to take that fork in the road down the path less traveled.
My goal here is to create a compilation of all the things I'm learning...and to share my personal steps toward a life of freedom from this modern madness.
Although, in typical "me" fashion, I want it all now...I am taking this wise advice:
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.
